Hosta 'Blue Mouse Ears'

From my garden

Blue Mouse Ears is the smallest hosta I grow and the one people crouch down to look at. The leaves are round, thick and properly blue, and the whole plant stays about the size of a dinner plate. It took a few years to get even that far, because it is slow. Slugs have never touched mine; the leaves feel more like rubber than leaf. Best right at the front of a bed or in a pot, where a bigger hosta would hide it.
