Hosta finder

Pick what matters for your spot and the list narrows as you go. Combine anything: size with color, sun tolerance with slug resistance, all four at once. Every variety links to a full page with photos, traits, and where to buy.

Filters

Size (mature) Mature size, not the pot it ships in. Hostas take 4 to 5 years to get there.
Leaf color Variegated means two-tone leaves, like white margins or gold centers.
Sun tolerance "Sun tolerant" still means afternoon shade in hot climates. No hosta wants full Texas sun.
Slug resistance Thick, waxy leaves resist slugs best. High resistance means less spring heartbreak.
Deer resistance Honest label. No hosta is deer-proof; some are just further down the menu.
Growth rate
Fragrant bloom Most hosta blooms have no scent. The fragrant few are worth planting near a path.
