Will damaged, broken Hosta grow back?

Question by lizochek09: Will damaged, broken Hosta grow back?
I’ve planted several hosta bulbs/tubers a few weeks ago. Some of them were starting to leaf out when my dog run over and broke them. Now there are just short stumps sticking out. Will they grow back again?

as far as i know the only thing that will kill a hosta is to pour gasoline or weed killer directly on it and even then it may still grow. they are the toughest plant i’ve ever seen.

Each plant will sprout multiple leaf stems. If your dog broke a few, don’t worry others won’t be far behind.

Hostas can live through anything. We’ve left them out in the Chicago winter and they came back.
