What types of plants, flowers, hanging baskets, etc will grow and thrive in shade?

Question by Kelly: What types of plants, flowers, hanging baskets, etc will grow and thrive in shade?
My balcony gets no sun and every year I have trouble getting any flower or plants to thrive on my balcony. Does anyone have any suggestions? I would really like to be able to have some plants out there. Thanks.
Thanks guys.. I will have to try out some of your suggestions and see what happens.

NO sun make it hard. Even though it may say shade it still needs some sun. Dappled will even work.
Try Hosta , Caladium , all types of ferns , impatients.
None will really be the full color and growth in FULL shade.
Since in containers maybe put in some sun during the wekk then move back to your balcony when your home on the weekends. You could move them to some grow lights during the week while you are working…………

What do you think? Answer below…
