Question by julianna: i have a hosta plant in a large container. can i leave it in the container? can i bring it in in the winter?
i live in an apartment and can’t plant it outdoors, and would like to have it indoors in the winter, but would that be bad for the plant?

I would leave it outside, it will come back on its own.

    Hostas are perennial that need to have a cold season. You can leave it in the pot.

    If you leave it in the pot, it will go dormant but you will need to put it somewhere like in a storage closet during the winter otherwise it will not be protected from the freezing. If you must leave it outside, put some type of insulation around the whole pot to keep the roots from dying.
