I accidently sprayed my hosta and stella d’oro plants with round up?

Question by John: I accidently sprayed my hosta and stella d’oro plants with round up?
I was trying to kill some weeds around my plants with round up when I must have accidentally misted the plants. Half of the plant died and I lost all flowering on these plants. I know both types of plants are strong. Will these plants come back next spring or should I consider replanting them? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

You probably killed them. The one that still has 1/2 a plant might make it. Next time you accidentally mist a good plant with roundup, grab a hose and immediately rinse it very, very well with water. If any green remained on the plant 3 weeks after the accidental spraying, the plant will probably live.

  1. lazybones says:

Cut the hosta down to ground level, to stop any more of the herbicide being transferred to the bulb. Same with the lilly.
