Can you recommend a perennial for this spot…full shade until late afternoon then full sun?

Question by peace2u: Can you recommend a perennial for this spot…full shade until late afternoon then full sun?
I live in zone 4. The area has fairly poor drainage & very dense soil. I currently have some hostas in this area that are considering coming back to life but would like more options.

choose any plant that’s part shade to part sun, and can tolerate your hardiness zone.

But you should really do something about that soil, first. Mix some peat moss and a heavy dose of compost into the soil before you plant anything else.
