are hosta plant root dry out when you first plant them?

Question by George P: are hosta plant root dry out when you first plant them?
I just bought hosta root and I have planted them. Are they suppose to be dry and no indecation of a flower? I think that it might be dead. So can you tell me what they are suppose to look like before you plant them, or send me a picture of just a root.
Thank you

My Hostas were dug up & gave to me by my neighbor so I’m not sure what the root would actually look like. I went to Hostas.com to see what my plants look like in full bloom. They have alot of info about the plants there so maybe it’ll help you. Good luck my friend!!
