What’s a good root growth on a hosta plant?

Saturday, January 15th, 2011

Question by Erb: What’s a good root growth on a hosta plant?
I transported my hostas from under my tree to containers- they were dying from the roots of the tree sucking the nutrients out of them. Upon transport it was hard to get a good size chunk of root- what is the appropriate size they should have to live?
Hosta plant has between 4-5 leaves some with 3-4

Hostas love water, and compost, compost, compost.
They also love about any type of fertilizer.
Not knowing the size of your plants makes your question difficult to accurately answer.
